Kellie Pickler and the parents of her late husband, Kyle Jacobs, are headed to court over disagreements about his estate and personal belongings.

Almost two years after Kyle’s passing in February 2023, Kellie reportedly filed a legal petition against his parents, Reed and Sharon Jacobs, who are co-administrators of his estate.

The petition, obtained by InTouch Weekly, states: “A dispute has arisen among the parties regarding certain personal property that was allegedly in Kyle’s possession before his death.”

Pickler’s legal team compiled a document titled “List of Assets,” which includes items allegedly belonging to Kyle. His parents, Reed and Sharon Jacobs, issued a subpoena demanding that these items be turned over to their legal counsel.

Pickler’s Claims Against Kyle’s Parents

Pickler alleges that Kyle’s parents entered her home after his death and took personal items without providing her with a detailed list of what they removed. Her petition asks the court to compel them to provide an inventory and help resolve the ongoing dispute over ownership of certain belongings.

She has also stated that some items listed in the subpoena are not in her possession, and she disputes the ownership of others.

Reed and Sharon Jacobs’ Response

Kyle’s parents countered Pickler’s claims by accusing her of refusing to return property that belongs to his estate. This includes items such as his work laptop, iPhone, and hard drives.

Reed and Sharon admitted to entering Pickler’s home but claimed it was done at her invitation and with the approval of her legal counsel. They argue that they have no obligation to provide a list of the items taken, as they were handed over voluntarily.

The parents also accused Pickler and her legal team of providing “conflicting information” about the location of several disputed items.

The Jacobs family has asked the court to dismiss Pickler’s petition, while she seeks legal intervention to settle the conflict. The case remains ongoing, highlighting the challenges of estate disputes involving personal and sentimental belongings.

Kyle Jacobs, a renowned songwriter, was married to Kellie Pickler in 2011. He tragically passed away in February 2023 from an “intraoral shotgun wound,” as reported by the Davidson County Medical Examiner.
