Pea and ham soup
Ingredients:
1 ham hock
yellow split 2 cup peas soak overnight even you like mushy.
1 large carrot
2 celery stems
1 x brown onion
1 x bay leaf
10 cups water or 8 if you want a bit more of liquid
Method:
Rinse and soak split peas
(I dont soak, I use an old school potatoe masher at the end to mush it all up)
Chop all your stuff up small
(I use pre cut woolies vege medly to cheat the chopping)
add peas in bottom after dump in vegies and hock.
Add the water and chuck it on for 8 hrs low.
Let’s see how to we made Pea and ham soup:
Laat minute pull the hock out carefully as it falls to bits. Take all fat off and pull the meat apart, throw it back in. Mix all up and give it a mash if u want it thick. Or blitz with a wizzy thing.
All done….serve with bread. And red wine.
